If you have some downtime, our team has compiled a list of must-see sights and activities in Chicago:
- Millennium Park: Home to the iconic Cloud Gate sculpture and vibrant gardens, Millennium Park is a cultural hub you won’t want to miss.
- The Art Institute of Chicago: This renowned museum boasts an extensive collection of masterpieces, including works by Monet and Van Gogh.
- Willis Tower Skydeck: Offering breathtaking panoramic views from the 103rd floor, the Skydeck features thrilling glass ledges that extend out from the building.

Lollapalooza comes up the following weekend if you’re looking for some live music of all genres. It’s one of the easiest music festivals to attend since it’s in the city, so that logistics aren’t as much of a hassle.
Recommendations from the Dendi Team
Carson: As a Chicago native and avid runner, I highly recommend going for a jog or run along the Lakefront Trail near Grant Park. It’s beautiful in the summer and conveniently close to McCormick Place. If you’re looking for the best deep dish in the city check out Pequod’s Pizza in Lincoln Park. Then make your way over to Navy Pier for some of the best views of the skyline.
Jihoon: As a history buff, I loved the Chicago river boat architecture tour. It’s a comfortable and fascinating way to explore the city, plus they serve drinks on board! Try to get there early because finding the right boat at the docks can be confusing and they’ll leave without you if you’re late!
Payton: I also suggest the Chicago River Architecture tour! It’s best in the late afternoon to beat the heat and see the buildings at dusk.
Chris: Chinatown is just over a mile away from McCormick Place and definitely worth a visit. You’ll find dimsum, bubble tea, and a hip speakeasy cocktail bar hidden behind a Chinese takeout facade (Nine Bar). I love the bold flavors and spice of Sichuan cuisine, so my recommendation is Chef Xiong – Taste of Szechuan. Blessed by the late Anthony Bourdain, this spot is unassuming, but authentic.
