Dendi Team Spotlight

Ashley White, MB(ASCP)CM, Account Manager

Ashley White is an experienced laboratory professional with a BA in Biology from The University of Texas and an ASCP certification in Molecular Biology. Having advanced through roles as both a molecular technologist and in management as a lab supervisor, she possesses a wide range of lab expertise.

In her role as Account Manager at Dendi, Ashley utilizes her strong background in laboratory operations, training staff, and ensuring regulatory compliance to support customer labs in accomplishing their goals while optimally implementing Dendi’s LIS platform.

Driving Success Through White-Glove Service and Hands-On Lab Expertise

Dendi’s mission to reinvent the LIS and advance clinical diagnostics with technical innovation doesn’t mean that we compromise on customer support. In fact, our goal is to offer the kind of personalized, responsive service that traditional software vendors often cannot match.

It’s an area where Ashley White shines. Her knowledge of clinical diagnostics and experience in the lab uniquely positions her to support Dendi’s clients making us more of a partner than a software vendor. She is one of Dendi’s standout Account Managers, because her understanding of the intricacies of lab workflows and the daily challenges that lab professionals face allows her to provide unmatched personalized support.

Journey from the Lab Bench to Personalized Lab Support

Ashley’s lab journey during the grueling stage of the COVID-19 Omicron surge. “I started out as a laboratory technician and was chosen to manage the molecular department,” she notes. Ascending to a laboratory supervisor role, Ashley tackled everything from overseeing pre-analytical processes to managing inventory and training teams—ultimately becoming the lab’s go-to problem solver.

Later, Ashley brought this wealth of experience with her to Dendi, helping to empathize with and find solutions for our customers. “Molecular laboratory work tends to be very granular, which gave me an eye for detail,” she says. Leveraging that detail-oriented mindset, Ashley collaborates with lab personnel to implement Dendi’s LIS solutions in a way that anticipates and addresses real-world challenges. She aims to ensure that every customer maximizes their potential with Dendi’s LIS platform.

Linking Lab Software to Real-world Lab Needs

Knowing that legacy systems have become outdated in today’s rapidly evolving healthcare space, we knew that we needed to craft specific solutions to address the gaps in generic lab software. Ashley’s experience working through these challenges is what allows her to support lab professionals in utilizing Dendi’s features and solutions, empowering them to accomplish more.

She recalls a time where a lab struggled with molecular testing, particularly real-time PCR controls.

“I built internal tests into the labs’ profiles that automatically flag issues with control results,” she explains. “It replaced the lab’s manual process that was causing slow turnaround times. Now, the lab relies on Dendi to do that monitoring, which saves them significant amounts of time and reduces errors.”

Whether it’s introducing labs to helpful features like Dendi’s Worklists or showing managers how to leverage analytics in decision-making, Ashley personifies Dendi’s commitment to going above and beyond. We’re not just selling software; we partner with labs, alleviate pain points, and deliver real, meaningful solutions.

White-Glove Support: A Necessity for LIS Success

At the heart of Dendi’s success as a disruptor in the laboratory information systems is our commitment to white-glove support: hands-on, responsive, and deeply human. While legacy providers might route customers through layers of automated ticketing systems, Dendi offers dedicated points of contact who know the lab environment inside and out. Ashley’s approach showcases how we live up to this promise.

“To me, white-glove support means open communication and adopting a team-oriented approach,” Ashley shares. “Although I’m not part of your lab’s payroll, I see it as my job to be a member on your team!”

In one instance, a lab had to implement Dendi faster than planned, creating an environment ripe for chaos. “I started a ‘virtual conference room’ so the Dendi team and the lab staff could troubleshoot in real time,” Ashley notes. “Having immediate access to our support team eased tension and helped the lab adapt far more smoothly.”

Without a high level of support, it’s not uncommon for LIS implementations to fail or for staff frustrations to build. It’s why our agile mindset and dedication to our customers is critical to earn their trust as partners with common goals.

Creating Lab Solutions Based On Lab Experience

Dendi hires team members with extensive lab backgrounds. Ashley knows what it’s like to juggle conflicting priorities and deadlines; she knows how important it is to track tests accurately, comply with regulations, and deliver results quickly.

“Clinical laboratory testing is often overlooked and thankless,” she says. “Being able to connect with customers over shared experiences—like what it’s like working long shifts to serve demanding providers and patients—helps me better understand and respond to their needs.”

Empathy, technical expertise, and direct understanding of lab workflows position Ashley and the rest of the Dendi team to offer solutions that genuinely improve day-to-day operations. Whether it’s addressing staffing issues, interfacing with instrumentation, or helping labs wrangle their data more effectively, we solve problems faster and more effectively than vendors without real and recent lab experience.

Looking Ahead: Innovating for a Rapidly Evolving Industry

In addition to focusing on customer support, Ashley likes to think ahead. She’s especially excited by the shift toward personalized healthcare testing—an area where Dendi’s flexibility is poised to make a significant impact. “With chronic illnesses on the rise, personalized testing can save time and money when deciding on treatment options,” she says. And for lab managers and directors, Ashley highlights the critical importance of having real-time, trustworthy analytics. “I always make sure quality managers, lab managers, and supervisors understand how to use Dendi’s analytics dashboard. A one-stop shop for analytics saves a ton of time and frustration.” She also takes customer feedback back to the product team for consideration for new features that would be helpful to all users.

Our advantage as an agile company lies in our ability to innovate quickly in response to feedback from experts like Ashley and the labs she supports. This flexibility and personal dedication to each customer is central to our mission which prepares labs to also become more flexible and offer more personalized service.

Ashley White’s expertise and dedication illustrate what makes Dendi unique: white-glove support backed by real lab experience and an unwavering commitment to customer success. Our agile approach to lab solutions and personalized touch gives labs an advantage in an industry where cookie-cutter solutions often fall short.
