Atlantic Diagnostic Laboratories Chooses Dendi LIS to Advance Laboratory Operations

Transitioning to Dendi’s laboratory information system will enable ADL to efficiently scale its clinical diagnostics services and improve client satisfaction

Durham, NC, (February 18, 2025) — Atlantic Diagnostic Laboratories (ADL), a leading full-service clinical laboratory based in Bensalem, Pennsylvania, has selected Dendi’s cloud-based laboratory information system (LIS) to replace their legacy system to support their mission of advancing its clinical diagnostics services. This strategic decision aims to enhance healthcare provider and patient experience, deliver greater value, and scale operations effectively.

ADL is an independent full-service clinical laboratory certified by the College of American Pathologists (CAP) for Clinical and Forensic Studies, and is CLIA certified for high-complexity diagnostic testing. The laboratory offers a comprehensive range of testing services, including chemistry, hematology, immunology, microbiology, and genetic testing while also specializing in forensic toxicology and drug testing. ADL serves a diverse clientele of behavioral health facilities, pain management clinics, physician offices, urgent care centers, wellness programs, drug rehabilitation clinics, hospitals, correctional facilities, and more.

In this partnership, Dendi will provide multiple tools and services within its LIS suite to enhance ADL’s operational efficiency and service delivery including:

  • State Reporting Programs and Antimicrobial Stewardship Integrations: Seamless connectivity with the Pennsylvania Department of Health and the CDC’s Report Stream to ensure timely and accurate infectious disease reporting. Antimicrobial stewardship reports also support providers in responsible prescribing practices and combating antibiotic resistance.

  • Reference Sendout Laboratories: Streamlined processes for managing tests referred to external laboratories, improving turnaround times and tracking.

  • External User Order Creation Interface: A user-friendly platform enabling external clients to create and manage orders efficiently with guardrails in toxicology-specific configurations to ensure that medications are properly recorded for more precise report interpretation.

  • Advanced Patient and Provider Searching: Enhanced search capabilities to quickly access patient and provider information, reducing administrative time.

  • Billing Integration: Comprehensive integration with billing systems to facilitate accurate and prompt invoicing.

  • Historical Order Import: Migration of historical data from ADL’s legacy LIS system to maintain continuity and data integrity.

  • Instrument Integrations: Over 25 laboratory instrument interfaces to automate testing workflows for their varied test menu from multiple in vitro diagnostics equipment manufacturers including: Beckman Coulter, Siemens, Sysmex, Bio-Rad, Roche, and Diasorin.

  • EHR Integrations: Connectivity with multiple client Electronic Health Record systems to ensure seamless data exchange for test orders and patient results.

At time of publishing, ADL has already begun implementation with Dendi and is set to go live with Dendi’s full LIS suite in Q1 2025, marking a significant milestone in their commitment to leveraging technology to provide superior laboratory services far into the future.
